About PMLT

Per My Last Thought Banner

Per My Last Thought (PMLT for short) is a newsletter where the ideas that linger—whether from a book, a sharp conversation, or a random mental detour—finally get a proper home.

It explores the unexpected intersections of history, culture, and modern work. The tone? Opinionated, occasionally insightful, and usually carrying a dose of dry humor no one requested.

I’m Jimmy El Gemayel, a consultant by day (and more nights than I’d care to admit). I advise leadership across government and enterpriseson problems that don’t come with easy answers. Off the clock, I gravitate toward golf, whisky, and cigars. Think old man, trapped in a young man’s body.

In PMLT, each edition dives into whatever’s been on my mind—economic quirks, forgotten histories, or the strange logic behind the world we’ve built. Some entries are serious. Others are not. All aim to make you pause and think.

Why subscribe?

If you're drawn to ideas that sit somewhere between curiosity and contrarianism, this is for you. I write every few weeks about things worth thinking about. Topics include history, work, culture, and whatever else is rattling around in my head.

No self-promotion. No gloating. No “10 productivity hacks.” Just thoughtful writing that might make you pause, question, or occasionally laugh.

Who is PMLT for?

If you’re curious, opinionated (but open), and enjoy poking holes in overly serious things like history or hierarchy, you’ll probably feel at home here.

What you’ll get

  • One post every 2 to 4 weeks, sent straight to your inbox
(Squeezed in between projects, usually late at night)
  • Ideas with a twist - part reflection, part satire, never clickbait
  • A reason to reach out - I write these mostly for myself, but hearing feedback from readers is always appreciated.
